Due to the bilingual program of my high school, I got the chance to travel for 10 months in Canada. It was an enriching year, either for the language or personally. I learned a lot about other cultures, and about myself.

At first, I was scared to not adapt and be able to go talk to new people, but fortunately I quickly made friends. Most of the time, the people I met were from all around the world, so I got the chance to hear about so many different cultures and countries.

It was fun to hang out and experiment new things. For example, in winter me and my friends liked to go ice skating. Also, we liked to go see the American football game at our school, because it is an important event for the high school students there, and almost the whole school goes to support the players.

It was really interesting to go to class in English, even if at the beginning some classes were a little bit complicated to follow. But the other students were nice and always there to help me.

I also had the chance to go to New York and Toronto with other exchange students. It was a really good opportunity to meet new people and visit those cities.

In Toronto, we passed the C1 test. I was a little bit stressed, like most of the other students. The exam is really long and it can be hard to focus, but the most important is to stay calm and trust the 10 months of practice. In the end, I was really proud of myself for doing it.

In general, this experience was very beneficial for me and I am grateful for it. I made unforgettable friendships and memories, and I really improved my English.
